THESE ARE SOME OF MY FAVORITE THINGS…..VALENTINE’S AT THE INN AT COURT SQUARE

Please join us for an exciting weekend of Valentine events! We are thrilled to be offering four nights of dining with Chef Jim McCullough, February 11-14. Last week our wine dinner sold out, so please make your reservations early for this special evening of fine dining and romance. When making your reservations, be sure to reserve one of the tables next to the warm fire.

The Valentine’s Dinner menu includes some of my personal favorites: coconut shrimp, seared ahi tuna with tequila lime drizzle, grilled filet mignon, and, of course a southern girl’s favorite, fresh key lime pie with grand mariner whipped cream!

Chef Jim will also feature some Valentine specials during our regular lunch hours, Monday through Friday from 11:00-2:00. Come by and try Chef Jim’s unique soups, salads, and sandwiches. Don’t miss Pastry Chef Pat Chiavetta’s mouth-watering desserts to complete your Valentine’s Day!

If you book soon, you can even spend the night in one of our ten beautifully appointed guest rooms. A complimentary glass of wine will be served upon check in, and you’ll find Pastry Chef Pat’s house- made Scottish Salted Chocolate Oatmeal cookies in the hallways. Wake up to a local favorite, Greenberry’s French Roast Coffee. Enjoy our amazing breakfast baked by Pastry Chef Pat. Her quiches are so creamy that I am constantly told, “this is the best quiche I have ever eaten”! Pat does her own twist on a Bread Pudding, made with fresh baked croissants and local ingredients. Like a French toast, it is seared to perfection. On the healthier side, we also offer a cold buffet featuring our house made muesli, fresh fruit, local yogurt, cottage cheese, and fresh squeezed orange juice. We also serve Pat’s amazing breakfast breads.

The Inn at Court Square is located in the oldest house in downtown Charlottesville. Built in 1785, the Inn is furnished with beautiful antiques that are for sale throughout the comfortable interiors. The Inn faces the famous Stonewall Jackson Statue located in Court Square and is located just two blocks from the pedestrian promenade, a short walks from some of Charlottesville’s best restaurants, antique shops, locally owned boutiques, coffee houses, and ice cream shops.

I would like to wish everyone a HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY! I hope everyone has the opportunity to experience the kind of love my parents shared during their 54 years together!

I look forward to seeing you this week for some of our Valentine’s offerings!

INN AT COURT SQUARE WINE DINNER

Please join us on Thursday, January 28th at 6:00 pm at The Inn at Court Square for an exciting Wine Dinner with Margeaux McLain and Chef Jim McCullough. Margeaux hails from Somerston Estate Winery in the heart of Napa wine country. Tucked away 8 miles east of Rutherford and the Chiles Valley appellation, Somerston’s remarkable 1628 acre property includes vineyards, spring fed lakes, natural soda springs, fruit orchards, and vegetable and herb gardens. Somerston Estate’s winemaker, Craig Becker, draws on diverse vineyard sources of the Napa Valley to produce intense wines with vivid personality and world-class distinction. The Wine Dinner will feature an exquisite line up of estate-bottled, limited-production Napa Valley wines presented by experienced sommelier, Margeaux McLain, and paired with Chef Jim’s culinary creations.

Chef Jim is very excited to show off his love for food during this wonderful Wine Dinner. He will begin the evening with Canapés and Champagne. His second course will feature Tempura Battered Lobster Sushi Rolls with a Ginger Sake Sauce paired with Priest Ranch Grenache Blanc 2014. The third course will showcase a Creamy Asparagus Soup with Lime Crème Fraiche paired perfectly with a crisp and grassy Priest Ranch Sauvignon Blanc 2013. Jim will highlight two amazing red wines by pairing them with just the right dishes! The fourth course will feature a small bite of Moroccan Rack of Lamb Chop with Stilton Fondue paired with a Highflyer Centerline Red Blend 2010. Jim’s fifth course couples a Mushroom-Wrapped Flank Steak and Burgundy Sage Reduction with a big and bold Priest Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon 2012. For the evening’s finale, Jim will make a Praline and fresh Berry Napoleon served with Chateau De Caladroy Muscat de Rivesaltes 2013.

I hope you can join us for an evening that will tantalize the senses! If you would like to spend the night afterwards in one of our historic guest rooms, please call for a special a package rate!
